The Beautiful Small Doily Story

About 18 months ago I was crocheting doilies (duh) for the 2022 Christmas season. I found a pattern that I thought was cute so I started to crochet it & half way through lost the pattern.

Special side note for my crochet community: When you find a doily pattern on the texting device, save it BEFORE you start crocheting. I don't always heed my own advice.

Now back to our saga...

As you can imagine, I sat scrolling & scrolling for a stupid amount of time until I found the picture of the finished doily, but not the pattern. I ended up doing my super-skill of finishing the doily without any pattern using just the photo. I liked it that much.

Later, I found the pattern and started making more.

It was obviously a Magic Crochet or Decorative Crochet pattern (you can tell by the way it was printed) but there was no name.
So it being a cute, small doily I gave it the name Beautiful Small Doily.

Months went by as I continued crocheting this doily pattern. which I eventually found and saved to my computer machine (joy & glee). I made it in all kinds of colors for all the holidays. One day I was gifted a nice pile of Magic Crochet magazines. LO & BEHOLD! There was the pattern, looking exactly like the pattern I saved.

Huh? Cocktails is such a 1950's word.
I've stuck with Beautiful Small ever since.

We've all seen this pattern before in one, two, three and mixed colors. It'll always be a favorite!
