I've heard this too many times:"I love doilies, I'll just throw them in the washer & dryer!"
While I often say doilies are hardy enough to last for generations, I think the washer is a bit too rough on the little guys. Use an oxyclean bath.
( I've used BIZ, but even that non-bleach bleach is rough, so only a tiny bit for a short soak. )
Worse is the dryer! Doilies are usually 100% cotton and cotton shrinks. Dryers are doily nightmares.
Instead, just lay on a towel & press into shape. The doily will dry happily & you'll have the best results.Â
